Ecorys is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Davis (42) as Managing Director, Ecorys UK, as per 1 March 2016.
Michael brings to Ecorys a unique blend of commercial experience, honed in start-ups and small and medium sized enterprises, combined with extensive experience of working with senior industry leaders and governments in the formulation of public policy across the UK.
Michael has been for the last 5 years the Chief Executive of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES), an executive non‐departmental public body that offers guidance on skills and employment issues in the UK and includes responsibility for managing Investors in People.
Before joining UKCES, Michael was Managing Director of the Centre for Enterprise (CFE), a start-up created by three universities and a local Training and Enterprise Council in the East Midlands. Over 10 years he grew the company to deliver national programmes in enterprise and skills as well as providing research and consultancy services to local and regional economic partnerships.
Michael has also been a Chairman of a Further Education College and a Chairman and investor of a manufacturer of lighting equipment for photographers.
Michael is the successor of Chris Ralph who after successfully transforming Ecorys in the UK into a profitable business with a strong financial basis, decided to take a sabbatical leave.
Manon Janssen, CEO of Ecorys:
"On behalf of the entire organisation I welcome Michael to Ecorys. His management expertise, leadership qualities and client focus will be great assets in leading Ecorys UK to the next phase of profitable growth and expansion, serving clients in the public sector as well as the semi-private sector. Peter van der Meij, Chief Operations Officer and I are looking forward to working together, to take Ecorys UK to the next level."
