At the World Ski Awards, the winter destination LAAX was crowned "Switzerland's Best Ski Resort" for the third time in a row. The award ceremony took place on Saturday night in Kitzbühel. This accolade is awarded by both the jury and the public and is one of the World Travel Awards, which are regarded as the "Oscars of the travel industry".

The prize was accepted on behalf of LAAX by Reto Gurtner, President and CEO of the Weisse Arena Gruppe LAAX. During the gala on Saturday evening, Gurtner was visibly pleased: "This award is a big thank you to our team from our guests. That makes me proud. And it gives us added motivation to carry on in the same vein, consistently offering guests the lifestyle they experience in LAAX."
The third award in a row confirms - according to Gurtner - that hard work and commitment pay off. The conceptual planning and its consistent implementation in the areas of infrastructure on the mountain and in the valley, including ski lifts, catering and hospitality, are the reason why LAAX is the hotspot of the Swiss Alps. This is appreciated by travel industry experts and visitors alike, who in 2015 have once again awarded LAAX the accolade of "Switzerland's Best Ski Resort".
LAAX opens up new perspectives. With the opening of the gondola La Siala the revolution on the mountain is complete for now. Nine new restaurants spearhead the culinary revolution for 2015/2016. These gastronomical ventures include culinary specials such as the Travelling Restaurant in the gondola hall and the White Carpet Brunch on the mountain.
LAAX makes freestyle dreams a reality. The world's largest halfpipe towers majestically on the Crap Sogn Gion: 200 metres of pure experience for all. The experience continues in the four snow parks and the Freestyle Academy, Europe's first freestyle training hall, and Burton Riglet Park in rocksresort. The superpipe is the venue of the LAAX OPEN snowboard contest with prize money of US $ 500,000 to be held between 18 and 24 January 2016.
