2017 Rail+Metro China Exhibition to Open In Shanghai November 21-23, 2017

Urban rail transit in China to enter a new phase of development during the government's 13th Five-Year Plan

SHANGHAI, Oct 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2017 China International Rail and Metro Exhibition (Rail+Metro China 2017)" will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center on November 21-23, 2017.

Rail+Metro China 2017 is produced by China International Engineering Consulting Corporation, Shanghai Shentong Metro Group and Shanghai INTEX. The show enjoys great support from the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, China Academy of Transportation Sciences, the Ministry of Commerce Department of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation of the People's Republic of China. Rail+Metro China 2016 hosted over 200 exhibitors from 13 countries worldwide, with the show floor spanning 20,000 square meters.

Rail+Metro China 2017 will showcase rail and urban rail transit vehicles, subassemblies and components, communication signals and IT technology, vehicle interior systems, maintenance and repair systems, traction power supply and drive devices, public service facilities, and tunnel engineering equipment.

In addition, more than 10 conferences focusing on industry trends and hot spots will also take place. The themes cover investment and financing of rail transportation, big-data and information, rail transit operation and management, vibration and noise reduction and rail traffic multi-standard development trends.

During the "12th Five-Year" period, China's urban rail transport completed a total investment of RMB1.23 trillion (USD$183 billion). By the end of 2015, 26 cities operated urban rail transport systems with a total operating length of 3,618km, and annual total passenger traffic of 13.8 billion. 20 cities have more than two urban rail transit lines, and are gradually forming network operating patterns.

The authorities in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, which have already formed network operations, plan to invest RMB695 billion in the next five years and create 982 kilometers in new lines. There is currently a total of 40 cities with rail transit lines under construction in China, while about 60 cities are carrying out the preparatory work of planning, surveying, design and consulting, with plans to be ready to be put into construction during the "13th Five-Year" period.
