About Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships
The Rakuten Japan Open -better known as the Tokyo Tournament- is the oldest ATP 500 professional tennis competition in Asia, held for the first time in 1972. This tournament is held every year in the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo, a covered stadium that has 48 tennis courts and a total capacity for 13,000 spectators. It also has one of the world's first retractable roofs.
