BNG Retains its Position as One of the World's Highest Rated Banks Following S&P Publication

DEN HAAG, Netherlands, November 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

The potential of a more protracted downturn in The Netherlands and the wider Eurozone affects Standard & Poor's economic risk score for the whole Dutch banking industry. For this reason S&P wants to reassess the long-term counterparty credit rating on BNG. Pending the outcome of this assessment, S&P has placed BNG's AAA rating on 'creditwatch negative'. In addition to S&P's AAA rating BNG is rated Aaa by Moody's and AAA by Fitch, confirming BNG's position as one of the world's highest rated banks.
BNG is the bank of and for local authorities and public sector institutions. The bank makes a sustainable contribution to minimizing the costs of social provisions for the public.
